The 1st of July is Canada Day and we departed early in the morning and arrived at Lagoon Cove around 10.30. There were many facilities and a history of many years as an active marina with many guests. To celebrate the Canada Day there was a crab race and a great potluck dinner in the evening with a Canada Quiz, won by Barbara and Svend!
We sailed on to Echo Bay Saturday the 2nd, and enjoyed Pierre's Marina though it was a very rainy day. On the way to Echo Bay we saw hundreds of dolphins playing around the boat for half an hour in Knight's Inlet!
We visited Billy Proctor's Museum near Echo Bay. He has collected a lot of interesting things from beaches and logging camps.
There was a potluck dinner and pig roast in the evening and a concert by one of the participating families.
Today the 3rd of July we are sailing to Port McNeill, where our journey ends. At 8 o'clockwe saw a whale in Queen Charlotte Strait!
It's been a great week with many new experiences and impressions of the extraordinary nature and places of The Inside Passage.
Thank you, Barbara and Svend!
